Harry P. Leu Gardens located in Orlando, Fl is one of my favorite gardens. It has 50 acres of tropical and semi- tropical gardens and landscaped grounds and lakes. 15 of the 50 acres is a U.S historic district with 3 historic buildings including a museum. Mr. & Mrs. Leu purchased the property in 1936. They traveled the world and brought back many exotic plants including, my favorite, camellias. The property is home to over 240 different varieties of camellias. Harry P. Leu deeded the home and gardens to the City of Orlando in 1961. Following are photos of the grounds. If you live in Florida you may want to check out this gorgeous property. I make it a habit to go a few times a year and was privileged to say my wedding vows there in the rose garden.
