Has anyone else noticed this--that as your years of playing - TopicsExpress

Has anyone else noticed this--that as your years of playing experience grows, you get better at hearing the little things. For instance, I never used to know or care why guitarists were always tuning because I couldnt hear the difference. Now I can be at a show and an out of tune instrument will wreck my enjoyment. The main thing I am able to hear better now is tiny variation in tempo. Is the song speeding up? Is it slowing down? Are all the performers on the same beat? These days I go see bands that have all kinds of gear and lights and costumes and stuff, so you know they are serious, but the drummer is dragging which pretty well wrecks the performance. This post is not meant to brag, but just to say how interesting music is that there is always something to learn.
