Has anyone ever had a dog who did not seem to be responding to an initial dosage of Panacur for giardia? Backstory: We picked up a homeless furbaby over a month and a half ago and when we took it to the vet to get it scanned it tested positive for giardia. When we brought it home, we quarantined it from our pup for the night and a friend adopted it the next day. They finished the medication the vet prescribed, and Piper and her new pal had a play date a few weeks ago. The end of last week she started having bad diarrhea so we took her to Oso Creek last Saturday and the vet started her on Panacur and said to administer the full packet (which is about 1 gram per day over what the packet recommends for Ps weight) for 5 days. It is day 5 today and she woke us up 4 times last night to go out and is still having diarrhea. I called Oso this AM and the vet she saw wont be in for a few days. I am just curious if anyone has had a similar experience with Panacur on the initial dosage, and if so did you continue with another treatment of the same thing or try a different Rx? Thanks all!
