Has it really been 48 years?!! We were much too young to be married, and my mother warned me it wouldnt last! But we were deliriously in love, and we were determined! We actually pitied everyone else because we were sure no one had ever loved as much as we did. :-) Throughout the years, we have cycled in and out of lean times and times of plenty, wonderfully close times, and terrifyingly confusing times. We held each other up through the months (years, really) of agonizing grief when we lost Keith. There have been times of growing apart, followed by times of coming together. We are still learning about each other…which is so much better than trying to change each other. There is no such thing as a perfect marriage OR perfect people. The keys to long marriages, I find, are love, forgiveness, and commitment. Most importantly, God has to be in the middle of it. Prayer has to be part of it. Its work (occasionally exhausting), but often enough, its exhilarating! Im thankful for all the good times, but Im also thankful for the bad times and sad times…because they are growth times. Thank You, most gracious heavenly Father, for showering us with both blessings and lessons. Thank You for Lance and Chad Jarzynka, for Kathy Jarzynka, and for all our beautiful grandchildren, Jason, Madison, Gerald, Heather, and Gabriel. They have all enriched our lives. Happy Anniversary, Don Jarzynka! I love you!
