Have I had my monthly rant for January yet? No?? Okay, here goes. - TopicsExpress

Have I had my monthly rant for January yet? No?? Okay, here goes. I write books. (Surprise!!! Youre shocked, I know.) Its my profession. Im officially a BDSM author and educator, full-time. This is what I do, 15 hours a day, seven days a week. (We can discuss my workaholism some other time, thankuverymuch.) I spend a lot of time advising people, because that too is a big part of my job, and I really do enjoy helping people. Sometimes, I recommend that someone should read one of my books. When I do this, its usually because Ive been asked a question that requires a hell of a lot more of an explanation than a bumper-sticker answer. Sure, I like selling books, and I could always use the $2 book royalty, but thats NOT why I tell you to read the book. Its because there is something in there that can make you happier, or save you years of grief, or perhaps even save your life. If you are simply someone who never reads *anything* just say so. But please dont insult my intelligence and give me some song and dance about how you cant afford to buy a book. The most expensive option is the paperback edition of D&S, which sells for about $15. If youd rather end up in the emergency room or in a divorce or just miserable for the rest of your life because youd rather spend $15 on cigarettes or beer, thats fine. Were all grown-ups here, and you should make your own choices. There are even coupons out there where you can get my books for as little as $2-$3 from Smashwords in ANY e-format, including PDF and plain text files. Ask me about them. So you really have no excuse, if you really DO want to learn something, and perhaps improve your life. Dont tell me you cant afford a book. I really do want to see you happy and successful in this lifestyle, but lets do this without insulting my intelligence, shall we?
