Have been bailed and my press conference is over. The summary of my media statement is as below. Now time for lunch :-) ----------------------------- It is obvious that the action to charge me under section 4(1) (c) of the Sedition Act is politically motivated. The charge against me shows that the government is ratcheting up its campaign against Pakatan Rakyat via court prosecution with the intent to cripple the Opposition and to silence critics in the society. It was YB Anwar first - for sodomy, then YB Karpal Singh - for sedition for merely proffering legal advice and now me over an amorphous and a wholly benign satire titled ONEDERFUL MALAYSIA. Add to that Rafizi, Nik Nazmi, Anthony Loke, Thomas Su and others. Anyone who has seen my video will know that it is merely a political satire where the issues and jokes raised by the actor and actress are in jest and they were topics of discussion by ordinary people in the country. A few BN politicians have made allegations against me but they have all gone silent after being strongly rebutted. Until now, no one has been able to produce any evidence to substantiate their allegations. How could they when their allegations were all false. Even if there is anyone who thinks or suspects that he or she has been ridiculed in a way in the video, they can by all means sue me. But till today, I have not seen or heard anyone claiming that he or she has been hurt or ridiculed by my video. It is unacceptable for the government to charge me under Sedition Act over such a political satire. Prosecuting me over a simple political satire not only shows how hollow and insincere is the Prime Minister‘s promise to repeal the Sedition Act, it also shows how political darkness has now returned to this nation after the last general election. I will fight this heinous charge to the end. I have not committed any crime and I shall be proven innocent in court.
