Have just realised how little a life is valued by healthcare professionals in our country. And God forbid, youre poor then youre completely ignored. Have been trying to get medical assistance for a man who cant afford it and barring one incredible oncologist at max no other doctor has been helpful, not even a Homoeopath. How can the premier medical institute of our country, AIIMS, make a sick man wait 13 hours to see a doctor? How in your right mind can you prescribe tests worth 50,000 to someone who struggles to find food on a daily basis? Why cant these be done at subsidised rates? Why must an EWS card take 6 months to make? Cancer patients need urgent attention, 6 months is the difference between life and death. People ask musicians and artists all the time to waive their fees for charity, why cant doctors do the same?
