Have listened to all film soundtracks nominated for the Oscars this year. Theyre all really REALLY great, and I can see why each one was nominated. Each one effectively presented this story of different individuals and emotions, even listening to films Id never seen, I could still picture many of the events that probably took place because the music so cleverly captured what it must have felt like to be in these fictional situations. Each soundtrack having its own different mood and set of characters that I could identify with. My opinion still stands that Grand Budapest outshines them all, only because the tone and the textures that it carried created an effect and an experience that Ive never heard done before for film. It wasnt just that the music drew me into the world of the characters with all their quirks and emotions, it took me into a world which contained feelings and concepts Id never felt before. It was as much a pleasure to listen to as it was to watch. The instrumentation was just so unique, that it quite stood apart from the others in my mind. I hope it wins.
