Have yall noticed how recipes on FB are not just a recipe but a very detailed editorial on how to make a recipe. Before they ever get to the recipe they have to give you a detailed account of how they found the recipe and the history of it plus all the comments from family and friends. Next we finally get to the recipe and instead of just listing the ingredients they have to go through and explain what they look for in the ingredients. Followed by pictures of ingredients in mixing bowls and so forth. Finally we get to the directions on how to make the dish. And once again they give details on how they made it. Would you believe I read a recipe where the person said they chopped up onions as small as they could in food processor because their kids wouldnt eat it if they saw an onion in the recipe. Now what does that have to do with me chopping up an onion of my choice to put in the dish I am making. Am I suppose to applaud her for getting her kids to eat onions by almost pureeing them? Come on folks. Most of us know how to go buy ingredients without your recommendation on what specific items you prefer. Most of us know how to pick out a mixing bowl without having to see your favorite mixing bowl your great aunt gave you for a wedding gift. Most of us know how to cut up and chop stuff up and mix it without all your little quirky methods that you think we should applaud how clever you are. Most of the time your little OCD clever steps just add a lot of extra work to a simple recipe. Cooking does not have to be an OCD science project.
