Have you been watching TV lately? I know... its a mess. But if you answered yes, then you have no doubt noticed a sad trend--the world will take an average everyday person and make them into a celebritize hero, promoting them into an overnight success. In many cases, those who have been made instant celebrities have compromised their character and lived in complete opposite to a godly standard. In Psalms 73:7, God’s Word says, “ But as for me, my feet were almost gone, my steps had well-nigh slipped. For I was envious of the foolish and arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.” The devil in all of his deception wants to preach a false gospel that doing good wont get you anywhere and that in order for you to become somebody, you have to compromise and go with the ungodly flow. It can appear a bit unfair, especially for those who are striving to live Godly submitted, righteous and holy lives. Heres what I have learned and am learning about Gods nature--He is more concerned about how we finish than how quickly we get started. While the devil can accelerate things like a microwave on high, God is more like Crock Pot cooking low and slow. Regardless of how long it has taken you to “get your godly act together”, in God’s timing you will come out as pure Gold. You part is to keep on pressing on to reach whatever His mark is for your life. Never measure yourself against how well you think others are doing. God has His own tailor made standard your life, your progress, His definition of success for what He has called you to do. Encourage yourself by remembering that in Jeremiah 29:11, God said, “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.”
