Have you ever just missed the boat? No, I dont mean the proverbial one. I mean the one you were supposed to board Monday, March 24, 2014, with your beloved teammates, friends, mentors...an experience beyond what even the word epic can capture. And you miss it. Somewhere between the cataclysmic passport nightmare, the dark alley pasageways of Miami, which if you didnt know is lovingly called the armpit of America and is where you must travel from the state department to get new passport photos in case you ever need to know, or the sleeping on a narrow bench between two baggage claim carousels, Im not sure what was worse about missing the boat. And being stuck in Ft. Lauderdale during spring break with virtually no hotel availability and having to pay nearly double to upgrade our plane tickets to an earlier flight - 4 days early just so you know - was like icing on cake...shaped like the ship I watched sail away because 25 minutes separated me from being on it. Damn ship sailed away right in front of my eyes. And I cried. Like a baby. It was ugly. So ever since we were up for over 48 hours and devastated to return home sans the tan and sand in our suitcases, Ive been grieving. Its a drama queen, pity party, wearing all black, moping, eating cinnamon rolls and NOT working out at all week up in here. Shoot, I havent even been on Facebook!! Right? I know you missed me. :) Tonight I was forced to shower and put my pretty on and go out to dinner, so I did, reluctantly shaking off the disappointment and sadness. Theres lots of blessings and lessons here that have all been slowly revealed, as always when you look for Gods hand. He has taught me to be humble, grateful, take time off, be still, and to laugh when a ship you should be on sails away. And then you have to see all the pics #ssbeachbody on Facebook!!!! Ahhhh, I ate my whole weeks allowance of dark chocolate and red wine in 2 days. :) yeppers sure did Off to eat at Juls in Tyler. I think Ill have seafood.
