Have you ever wanted to be a Professional Volunteer? AmeriCorps has a position open for a one year commitment in the Gibson County area as well as several other areas in Southwest Indiana. Even though this is a volunteer position it does come with several benefits. The expectation is that the volunteer would work to support and prep the area and state for disaster. One year with a minimum of 1700 hours. Monthly living stipend of just over $1,000 per month. Health insurance is paid 100%. At the end of the one year period there is also a further education bonus paid to the member in the amount of $5,645. This education money can also be used to go pack to school, pay student loans or you can pass it down to a child so that they can further their education.
