Having bearly slept in the last 24hrs with constantly being on the go since 7am yesterday, Alhumdililah last night by the grace of allah and through the kindness of our Unity FM listeners we made history yet again through our annual radio appeal. Every year we at Unity FM hold our annual appeal, all funds generated go towards the running costs of the station. However given the current situation in Gaza we thought it best for this year to make it special and give everything we raise on the night to our chosen charity of choice The Ansar Trust Worldwide and towards a joint project that InshaAllah will make a huge difference. Subhanallah we managed to raise just over £30k a record amount outside the month of Ramadan. This money was desperately needed for the people of jabalia in Northern Gaza. Jabalia is an area that has 45,000 inhabitants and no charitable medical facility. It is said by some it is one of the largest outside refugee camps in Gaza. Our goal was simple. To build the following: A Paediatric Childrens Clinic. That will be the first specialised charitable medical centre for children in Jabalia to serve 6,500 house holds from birth to 12 years old it will also host a dental clinic. It will consist of 3 wards each playing a vital role within its specialist area. These areas include: A dental clinic to give children checkup and treatment A maternity clinic for pregnant women A childrens clinic that will specialize in medical treatment and children who are suffering the effects of trauma from war. This was all made possible with the kindness of our donors, within the next few months jabalia will have its first charitable medical facility opening inshallah.
