Having been brought up by someone who lived through the Great Depression, I pretty much do all of this stuff already (except for growing my own food), and have done for my entire life. On the other hand, I can see how the Re-using items suggestion could be the start of a hoarding problem. And this at least partially explains why my house looks the way it does. I still havent figured out the potential secondary uses for some of the stuff I save, but continue to be optimistic that I will eventually think of something.
