Having just gotten Sam to sleep this afternoon, I asked a friend to pick up the kids. Not feeling well myself, I then laid down with her for some rest time. Expecting the kids to come in when they got home with questions and stories, I figured I would only get a few minutes in. I heard them come in... very quietly. I listened as they quietly went upstairs and found after school snacks. I heard them open their backpacks and pull out their books. I honestly dont think a word was exchanged between them. I dozed off. Just before 5 I walked out to the living room and was greeted by Max, still being very quiet. He let me know they had been reading and were just about to go upstairs and do some cleaning. Okayyyyyy. They cleaned Tuscany, (their play room) and were helping me gather garbage when they let me know it was time to clean the bathrooms. They divided up and very quietly and diligently set to work on bathroom duty. They are nearly done and already talking about what to do next. I guess what Im saying is... I hope youve stocked up on canned goods and bottled water, because the end is clearly upon us. ...or else I just have a couple of amazing kids.
