Having returned to London after a fraught and emotional visit to Greece I come back confronted by pieces like this (taken from Anatoly Karlin) theguardian/commentisfree/2014/nov/08/russia-today-western-cynics-lap-up-putins-tv-poison My aunt Melina Mercouri used to tell me that all publicity is good publicity. I dont actually agree but this is one case where in my opinion her maxim holds true. The number of hit pieces on RT in the British media over the last few weeks - all saying essentially the same thing - can only have picqued more British people to switch on to the Channel if only to find out what all the fuss is about. Given the poor opinion most people in Britain have of the media here anyway I dont think these vitriolic attacks on RT are clever or are going to turn many people against it save for those who are predisposed to dislike anything associated with Russia anyway.
