Having the impression that ministry starts and ends in the pulpit - TopicsExpress

Having the impression that ministry starts and ends in the pulpit is one of the enemys ways of creating confusion and distraction in the things of God. Gods people are becoming so caught up with struggling and backbiting all for the sakes of getting to the pulpit that the focus has shifted from fulfilling Gods purpose to that of the devil. God has given the body of Christ various gifts for equipping believers for works of service and not that of personal aggrandizement or showmanship. According to Ephesians 4:11-16, NIV, So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. Satan remains crafty, cunning, and filled with deceitful scheming which he has introduced into the gathering of Gods people. We ought to be smart enough to understand clearly why our LORD Jesus Christ told his disciples in Matthew 10:16, NIV that: I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. My prayer today is that God will grant us wisdom from his throne to enable us become the people he has purposed us to be in the name of Jesus, Amen.
