Having worked on activity, nutrition, and food consumption tracking software for almost a year now, Ive been surprised to learn how many people have absolutely no ability to control themselves when eating food. As a user interface designer, it has really affected how I think about user experience. One customer asked that we never show pictures of food in our software because he said seeing the pictures makes him eat more. This guy must be miserable considering how many food ads he probably sees everyday no matter where he might go. I can only imagine what going to a grocery store must be like for him.
