He Reigns “Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all.” 1 Chronicles 29:11 Verses like this one leave me speechless. What is there to say? Everything belongs to God. He rules over it all. For a moment, I want you to think about some things that you consider great, powerful, glorious, majestic and full of splendor. Picture them in your mind. Everything you just imagined is from, for and to God. The snow-covered peaks of the highest mountains and the deepest floors of the oceans belong to Him. Every star in the sky, blade of grass and grain of sand are His. Every bird that takes flight, seed that sprouts, flower that blooms, and cricket that chirps do so because of Him. Every heart that beats on this planet does so because He ordains it. He is the Creator, Giver, Sustainer and Taker of all life. He knows what we do not. He gives what we would not. He controls what we cannot. He is powerful; and He is kind. He is exalted; and He is near. He is victorious; and He is for us. He is judge; and He pardons. He is just; and He is patient. He is sovereign; and He is good. He is master; and He is friend. He is King; and He is shepherd. He is righteous; and He is Savior. From now and throughout eternity, we will never run out of reasons to worship our God. He deserves the praise of every nation, tribe and tongue. He alone is worthy. How could we ever question the goodness of so great a God? Let the following lyrics from the song “Forever Reign” (Kristian Stanfill) be your prayer to God.
