He has occasional flashes of silence, that make his conversation - TopicsExpress

He has occasional flashes of silence, that make his conversation perfectly delightful. Sydney Smith, an English wit of the mid 1800s. Ah....we all know folks like this...where silence becomes the delight of the conversation. I imagine Ive been described as such at times (get me started on the Reynolds family history during a tour and someone sneaks a peak at their watch - oh my!). On a totally different note, last night I woke with the twinges of one of those awful leg cramps that starts at the top of the thigh and ripples down the leg to the foot....the kind that makes one scream out loud. Ive only had this a few times in my life, but the pain is worse than words can describe. Fortunately, The Peoples Pharmacy with Joe and Terry Graedon suggested good ol yellow mustard as an immediate cure. Need I go on about the extent of the pain if I welcomed a soup spoon of mustard at 2:am?! Within thirty seconds the rippling abated and the pain was gone. Who knows if it was the tameric, the vinegar - or the placebo effect? But I would do it again.
