He was among the first people to own a television set, during moi day celebration on 10/10 and other public days we used to go to his home, to see soldiers match, patriotic songs being sang and then moi speech in Swahili. Joseph kibet chepkwony aka Kipkucho worked so hard to live modern live, n even to this day his family watches a colored tv despite not having electricity power connection. He loved his wife whom he married in 1964, at some recent functions he would invite my love raeli to pose for a foto. Today on Friday 10/10 we r back to his home, not to watch tv, not to listen to his advice on farming and family live but to lay him to rest. Hes gone, he went on 3rd last week. He wasnt sick, its wasnt accident at all. He woke up that morning at 5 am as usual, healthy and strong called his raeli who was admitted at mercy hospital, and took tea. At abt 6.30 am, he was gone, post mortem results say he was hit on his forehead and chest with a blunt object then strangled to death. To this hour pipo of kisorobi, boito and mumberes r yet to come to terms with this great lose. His grandchildren used to called him agui meaning grandfather, I wonder what theyre thinking now, one of them was the first to find him in the bushes at 1 pm hrs after his death. He called and asked him why he was sleeping alone in the bush.when agui refused to wake up he went on to home for lunch. He is the one who let every one to know about the tragedy. RIP Agui.
