“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6). We all have things we desire in life. I’m sure we all are striving to have God’s best no matter the situation. Well, if we look carefully at Deuteronomy 28, we can see some of the things that God has already promised us. There is only one rule to receiving them, and that is by obeying His commandments. Who wouldn’t want God’s best for life if that’s what we are destined to have? I can tell you from experience that being obedient to His Word won’t always be easy. You will have seasons where it seems as though God is asking you to do the impossible. There will also be moments when you feel that your way is better. Because God gives people the freedom of choice, He will allow you to do exactly what you want to do. Once you have had your way and seen it’s not in line with His will, He will be there with open arms to put you back on the right path. God has been putting in my spirit that in this season He is going to do things suddenly. It doesn’t take God long to do anything. We tend to say we are waiting on God, but the truth is, God is waiting on us. His work is finished—it was finished at the cross over two thousand years ago. So as soon as you make up your mind to submit and commit to His will and His way, He has the power to make things happen suddenly. As we are into a new year, let’s hold on to His promises. Let’s also be willing to submit and commit to His way and not our own. This will save time and heartache along the way. One thing for sure is that He who began His work in us is going to continue until it is finished.Rest in what is already done and do as He says. Over the next couple of days, I challenge you to write your visions for 2015, and as you pray over them, go ahead and thank God in advance for the things you are expecting. If you don’t see them today, know without a doubt that God will bring them to pass suddenly.
