Headed out to shoot my 5th wedding of this young season for Julia + Ian at the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in Boston and some thoughts on time: Im the stay-at-home chief cook and bottle washer on our ship. I work from home and need to cram whatever photo biz I can in between 9-3pm plus find time to work out/run, take care of my mental health, clean the house, prep dinner, do the shopping, garbage, etc. You get it; the domestic job of keeping people fed and clothes cleaned. Plus there are chickens to tend, hamsters to hamster and now, possibly we will be adding a doggie to this swirling tornado of Life. After 3pm its all kids with ballet carpool, guitar lessons, girl scouts and after school art classes and playdates. Then dinner and clean up and possibly a meeting or a phoner at night with a client or two. Maybe some family time before the bedtime ritual starts. Crash into bed or find some scant time to chat/argue with my wife before one of us passes out--all to wake and do it again the next day and every day. This is what all those couples Im photographing each weekend are signing up for in some way--maybe its my Cadillac commercial and it looks very different from theirs--Nest-ce pas?
