Heads up: According to the National Weather Service, the areas along and north of I-20 and along/north of US380 should closely monitor for the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms and be ready to put their severe weather plan in action. Large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes are possible in this area today. Any jurisdiction with outdoor activities should be monitoring for the occurrence of lightning, as well as the occurrence of any severe weather. IMPACTS, AMOUNTS, AND AREAS OF GREATEST CONCERN: Today, the main area of concern is along and north of a line from Breckenridge…to Mineral Wells…to Denton…to Cooper. This is the area where the moisture, lift, instability and wind shear could combine for isolated supercells and/or clusters of thunderstorms. Large hail, around 2” diameter, damaging winds and tornadoes are all possible in this area today.
