Heads up to those who havent seen The Desolaton of Smaug, SPOILERS here. I went to watch The Desolation of Smaug last night. I had kept myself pretty spoiler free. All that I actually saw were most people upset with the abrupt ending and I heard about Stephen Colberts cameo (but completely missed it while watching). I did catch Peter Jacksons cameo, and had a few people in the theatre ask me what I laughed about so early in the film. I dig what the team did with these films with including the appendices and trying to give as many aspects to the story as possible. In comparison to The Two Towers, that ended with them just continuing to walk and continue the journey, here, we had a nice cliffhanger and a premonition of whats to come. I also really dug Tauriel and it was cool to see the origin story of Legolas, where he came from and who he turned into in LOTR. All in all, I truly enjoyed it and cant wait for the next.
