Healing the Living Stones Blog Day 6 Before I left I had a - TopicsExpress

Healing the Living Stones Blog Day 6 Before I left I had a conversation with someone from our congregation who I know was well-intentioned. He obviously was not understanding why I was willing to travel halfway around the world support a bunch Christians I didnt know until eight years ago. It was a conversation that I had literally hundreds of times with Western Christians who, lacking in understanding of the situation, really struggle wrapping their head & their heart around what the heck were doing. So like a good counselor, I answered his question with a question (a strategy I actually learn ed from my wife) and I think it was very helpful for him. This is the question I asked him.... Do You want to do something that would change the Middle East? Do you want to help bring Christ to millions of Muslims across the Middle East? Confused Christians response...Of course! My explanation..... So, we could either parachute in hundreds of thousands of western missionaries into the Middle East to bring the gospel to them… or we could heal up and restore and encourage those Christians who are already there! Make sense? Thats what Healing the Living Stones intends to do! These great Christians both Arab and Israeli, many whose ancestors were present at Pentecost, are under assault in so many ways. We have an opportunity to come alongside them and provide the healing resources that they lack. And at the same time, to let the world wonder at the way we love our brothers and sisters here, and everyone else in the Middle East! Trust me, Ive seen the change beginning, and Im excited about the future looks like! Many of you have asked, Lance, sounds cool. What can I do to help ? Well, I reply, on May 18 were having the first ever Healing the Living Stones Fund Raising and Vision Banquet in the Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church Gathering Place. If you would like to share this journey with us please contact us at... Healinglivingstones@gmail or comment below and we would love to make sure you have a place at the table!
