Health Update 4/8/14 The kidneys: I randomly picked out a General Practioner because I needed one for non-HIV related things, namely my kidneys which have been producing too much creatinine lately. Dr. Rahman, as it turns out, specializes in nephrology. When he was young, his mother died from kidney failure as a result of overmedication for migraines, and so he made it his lifes mission to learn as much as he could about kidneys and protect his patients kidneys at all costs. A serendipitous meeting is an understatement of what happened today! First, we are going to determine whether or not my combined cholesterol medications (fenofibrate and pravastatin) are raising my creatine kinase level, which would in turn raise the creatinine level, then go from there. Solution: Get up off my ass once in a while. The blood clot: The Lovenox shots and warfarin coagulants have done the trick, so my blood has thinned to the point where no more clots will form. Now the systemic fibrinolytic enzymes will naturally eat away at the clot, which should be gone by the end of April at the very latest. Solution: get up off my ass once in a while. The hip problem: Likely an inflammation of the sacroiliac joint from sitting too damn much, which is causing inflammation in the piriformis muscle (causing the pain in my lower back and hip), which compresses both the lateral cutaneous nerve in the thigh (causing the numbness in my thigh) and the pudendal nerve (causing the pain in the groin). Solution: Get up off my ass once in a while. All that being said, Im going for a walk. Bye!
