Health and Wellness Lead (Segment Marketing Director) (88065) Hartford, Connecticut Job Description Role Summary: This position is responsible for the development and execution of the Select Segment’s Wellness strategy which is core to our overall value proposition and a key differentiator for Cigna in the marketplace. This role is responsible for providing leadership in the development and implementation of health and wellness strategies and service offerings to create and promote a culture of wellness for the segment’s clients and customers. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to management of a comprehensive wellness strategy, implementation of wellness/prevention strategies to promote healthy lifestyle behaviors and long term health benefits for our clients, development of educational offerings to drive health initiatives, assessment of health trends and internal/external data to measure utilization and program effectiveness, health improvements and outcomes. . Responsibilities: Leads the conceptualization, strategic creation and development of a health and wellness strategy for the Select Segment to include and implement the deployment of a comprehensive wellness program for our clients and customers. Strategy would include the service design, guidelines, policies, delivery models, clinical expertise and performance metrics. Develops and directs the processes to fully integrate workplace health and wellness activity into the business processes and strategic plans of clients and customers. Leads the establishment of health promotion policies, standards, procedures, guidelines and strategies for the segment Develops the business cases for funding new wellness initiatives Identifies and establishes new wellness vendor relationships, serve as key partner with strategic sourcing on new vendor contract negotiations Responsible for having a full understanding of data components and methodologies to establish metrics in order to create a return on investment and further program development. Reviews and analyzes data to determine programs that should be developed in order to further manage the baseline Benchmarks best practices for internal and external global wellness programs. Partners with key leaders to build health & wellness into the segment’s value proposition as a key indicator of organizational excellence. Maintains compliance with the privacy and HIPAA guidelines. Coordinates with Corporate Legal to ensure all program components are compliant from a clinical and legal aspect Passionate about promoting employee health and wellness as a core value within the segment. External subject matter expert speaker at conferences and client forums Represents segment in the business and health community by presenting and attending professional meetings, conferences, symposiums and benchmarking sessions. Partners closely with Cigna Information Management & Analytics (CIMA), Medical Economics, Service Operations, Product, Pricing Underwriting and Sales. . Requirements Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree preferred; in Business, Marketing or Health Promotion Health Promotion certification preferred in one of the following areas: Health Educator or in an allied health profession, or Masters in Healthcare, Public Health, Nutrition, Exercise Physiology or related field preferred 5+ years in people management experience Able to effectively oversee and coordinate a range of programs, services and projects. Demonstrate substantial initiative and capability to generate and effective network of professionals inside and outside the company. Previous experience with health and well-being programs. Proven ability to conceptualize, design, direct and manage the implementation of programs to deliver outstanding wellness initiatives. Ability to drive results, and implement a segment wellness strategy. Ability to foster collaboration, value others perspectives and gain support and buy-in for organizational proposals. Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Advanced knowledge of outcomes research concepts, issues, techniques and statistics. Proven ability to function in a heavily matrixed environment. Ability to analyze complex market opportunities and develop creative solutions in partnership with the Sales Leader and Regional Sales Leaders to a wide variety of unique market problems. Advanced consultative selling skills with the ability to successfully construct solutions. Strong people skills with direct experience in successfully managing client facing/growth initiatives within highly matrixed organizations.
