Heard this song earlier and it made me think of my dad, who used to sing it to me as a child. My abusive mother kidnapped my sister and I from my father almost 20 years ago. He did everything he could to keep in contact with my sister and I, even when we refused to speak to him (because of my mother insisting) he would still send cards and letters. Some we received and some my mother kept from us (I found out later). About 10 years ago, my father and I were reunited. We now have a close relationship. I am grateful for him every day. So this song is dedicated to my dad and to all of you fathers out there missing your kids. Dont give up.
