Hearing a lot about this lately but this startup is not solving the right problem. The world doesnt have a shortage of places to put solar panels. What we lack is a means of funding their manufacture, installation, connection to the grid and storage. Bring down the price of any of those things significantly and youve got a great solution. But the world doesnt need the complexity and expense of solar panels that have to be protected from the weight of a fully-loaded truck, that must remain connected to their circuit while embedded in a flexible, expanding and contracting medium, which cant be installed or serviced without digging up the entire road. Then we have to knock down all the roadside trees and buildings that overshadow the panels or locate the panels where there are no trees and buildings and then lose X% of the power generated in transporting it back to where we need to consume it. venturebeat/2014/06/03/its-official-everybody-loves-the-idea-of-roads-that-generate-solar-power/
