Hearing-impaired gather for Jehovahs Witnesses convention With more than 1,600 members in attendance from across the northeastern United States, the Jehovah’s Witnesses held their convention at the Assembly Hall in Jersey City over the weekend. The theme of the three-day gathering was “Keep Seeking First God’s Kingdom!” and throughout, the message was tailored for hearing-impaired members of the religion. Members on Saturday included those who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, deaf-blind and hearing persons who use American Sign Language, said convention spokesman Thomas Lynch. “We come together for our annual three-day convention to be strengthened through association and teachings from the God’s Word,” he said. The convention, which took place at the former Stanley Theater on Kennedy Boulevard, concluded yesterday. - nj/jjournal-news/index.ssf/2014/06/hearing-impaired_gather_for_je.html
