Heart Break for Fury Black! Fury Black have been denied a win they deserved in crushing circumstances against the team they are fighting for the third position on the ladder. The Fury outfit dominated play and led for the vast majority of the match, but cruelly fell in the dying seconds of the match. Blacks struck early courtesy of Josh Hillman and the lead was soon doubled via a Reinier Wolterbeek strike. The Blacks continued to push, but were unable to press home their advantage. AC Eagles rallied late as a tiring Blacks team made some uncharacteristic errors, including a howler in defence that saw a slow looping lob bounce uncontested into the back of the net. By half time the score was 2-2. The second half started like the first, with Fury Black maintaining complete control. Todd Scott soon gave Fury the lead and Hillman again stepped up to double it. Again as the first, Eagles began to push late as the Fury team tired. With 3 minutes to go the scores were tied. Fury Blacks rallied to regain the ascendancy and with 40 seconds remaining, Hillman created a turnover against the Eagles keeper, squeezing a shot off between the keepers legs that rolled towards goal. The crowd erupted believing the winner had just been scored, however the shot somehow found the post and Eagles managed to clear and earn themselves a corner in the process. With 16 seconds remaining, Eagles managed to fire a shot into the back of the Fury net and win the match 5-4. A heartbreaking loss for a game Fury Black deserved to win. In the Sixth BBC match, Fury White once again triumphed over Fury Red. Whites stormed out of the blocks as Reds were unable to re-capture the performance of the previous week. Whites pressured Reds in defence and surged forward on the counter to earn themselves a 4-0 lead at half time. The second half was a complete turn around in the teams performances, with Reds making all the runs and applying the pressure that saw them win over Knights. Whites found themselves camped in their defence for most of the half, but managed to keep Reds from taking too many opportunities and still managed to hit back with a goal themselves on the counter. White’s major concern would be on the fitness of Corey Laughton, who rolled his ankle on the verge of half time. How long he is out for could cause some headaches on the White’s camp. Final score 5-2. Goal Scorers: Fury White – B Bunder 3, C Laughton, D Clenton Fury Red – M Ambrose, C Alchin
