Heartbreaking Bear, who is crying for her family, is on Manhattans kill list. :( Bear was dumped by her family because they are moving. She has lived with 2 teens and 2 children under 12, and other dogs. Her resume is filled with all things we are looking for a dog. House trained, crate trained, walks well on the leash, knows sit, give paw, lie down. She aced her evaluation but is rated experience because she rushed in to meet the helper dog. She is easily pushed off food, and is not interested in toy or rawhide. She is kissy and sweet. A volunteer writes: The moment that Bear stepped out of her kennel she stood up to give me a kiss! I dont usually kiss on the first date, but Bear is so sweet and irresistible I was thrilled! Shes a compact little girl with a rounded figure surrendered by the only family she has ever known as they are moving where she is not welcome. She lived well with other dogs, loves to play and is active. Bear is a delight and it was clear as we walked to the park that she was looking for her people. Off leash in the backyard she loves to chase and pounce on a tennis ball and although she didnt retrieve, happily walked around with it in her mouth. Friendly and affectionate I got more kisses and lots of tail wags. A meet and greet with your current dog, if you have one, is always recommended. Little Bear is crying for her family, and we hope to replace those cries with little yelps of joy as she goes home with her new people.
