Heartening news coming in from #Rajasthan: 9 girls from 30 Children’s Groups run by Save the Children in the Tonk district have been conferred the ‘Laadli Sammaan’award by the Rajasthan Government and UNICEF in an event held in Jaipur last Saturday on the occasion of #InternationalDayOfTheGirlChild. Honourable Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment (Govt. of Rajasthan) Sh. Arun Chaturvedi recognized these girls for their momentous work against child marriage, child labour and other child protection issues in the Piploo tehsil of Tonk. Save the Children’s Children Groups in 30 villages of Tonk comprise 1500 children who meet regularly to discuss and share issues pertaining to child rights. We organize monthly meetings and trainings for them, provide them with exposure visits and opportunities to express their views and hone their talent.
