Heaven gained an angel yesterday as our husband, father, and grandfather, Timothy Meeker, lost his year long battle with melanoma. We hadnt previously posted regarding his diagnosis so that we could focus on maintaining the best quality of life possible between appointments and receiving treatments. He embraced life and lived it fully. In his own words, we werent to be angry or question why he had cancer, because ‘this is all part of life and part of life’s journey.’ A handyman with a generous soul, he was always available for home improvement projects by laying floors, wiring houses, and renovating kitchens. He drove hours to be backup child care for sick grandchildren. An avid motorcycle rider, he logged hundreds of thousands of miles, riding in all 48 contiguous states. He often had more miles on his Goldwing in a year than in the car. It was a common occurrence to get a phone call that he would arrive in an hour on one of his impromptu multi-day rides. Dad, may the coffee be hot, the corner piece of cake be ever present, and your Goldwing have angel wings. We miss you already but know that you will be with us always.
