~Heaven sounds and precision musical direction........~ When learning of the transitioning of the Legendary Pastor Andrae Crouch, I was moved in my heart, not because of the transitioning - he had served us well for so long; But because of his vast contribution to the Gospel Music Industry. ......the MANY hymns and songs that most give no thought too, which were written and arranged by Pastor Crouch. After the service, there was an aspiring musician who was extremely vocal about the news and I suppose, this was his way of letting those who were present in the room know that.....He was, in the know. As I listened, I retarded my speech in an effort to see just how much he didnt know. And the first few lines told it all....Andrae may have arranged The Blood Jesus Shed for Me, but he didnt write it. A huge red light flashed in my eyes on his forehead....WRONG...UNLEARNED....; As I continued to wait, he finally settled and turned in my direction, You sing a lot of hymns, have you ever sang Andraes arrangement of that hymn? Calmly speaking, I have sang Pastor Crouchs Hymns. Reaching for a hymnal,(which many years ago, I was told it was a great idea for me to keep with me at all times, though I had mastered the lyrics...incase of a challenging moment...lol;) I walked him through it and shared other information(s) of which he had no idea. I was a delight to inform him that not only did Pastor Crouch arrange The Blood, he was the author, and it was the first song that he had written. Not wanting to tell him to, pick up his face; I reached and embraced him and encouraged him to align himself with instructional settings, GMWA, Conferences and etc. of the like, where he can learn the history of what he has committed to succeed in. I said to him, while standing and reaching for my coat, To play the latest music is fine, to know the foundational music and its history is best. We have such treasured offerings, left by Pastor Crouch.....and when I think that my nephew is singing songs that were written before he was ever thought about, and they are just as powerful now as they were then.....God graced Pastor Crouch with something that only he couldve deposited in the earth. Heavens choir sounds and precision musical directions are something to behold: Can you imagine..... Pastor Andrae Crouch; Pastor Walter Hawkins; Rev. James Moore; Al Hobbs; Bishop Kenneth Moales; Pastor Timothy & Lady Betty Wright; Ronald Winans; Vestal Goodman; Thomas Whitfield; Rev. Milton Brunson; Marvin McQuitty; Albertina Walker; James Cleveland; just to name a FEW....from the various postures and sounds of Gospel music.
