Heavy rain forecast for Punjab, KPK, Kashmir LAHORE: A new system of monsoon rain has entered in Pakistan that will cause widespread rain with a combination of very strong westerly wave and a monsoon low pressure over the Indian states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, the Meteorological Department said in a weather forecast. A low pressure area over central India is likely to move northwest over the next 24 hours. It may persist over northern India during the next three to four days. Under the influence of this low pressure, strong to very strong monsoon current will penetrate into upper Punjab and Kashmir during the week, the Met department said. Due to the interaction of two weather systems, heavy to extremely heavy rain is expected in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa and Kashmir from Monday to Wednesday. The department also forecast flash floods in districts of Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, and Lahore divisions and Kashmir on Monday and Tuesday, and in D.G. Khan, D.I. Khan, Zhob, Sibi, and Naseerabad on Tuesday and Wednesday.
