Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. Dear friends, I want to encourage you to find a good home church. I know its not uncommon to hear this from a pastor, but I want to be clear that Im not saying that it need be our church. There are any number of good churches in the Taft area, all of which would benefited by your faithful participation. Not only would they be benefitted, but so would you. For one thing, the scriptures admonish us to gather together regularly, and while we can all read our Bibles and pray on our own, the opportunity to cultivate relationships of support and accountability cannot be developed in a vacuum. Secondly, church is not merely about what you get from the experience. When beginning his admonition to faithfully assemble together, the writer of the Hebrews began with the words, And let us consider one another... We live in a very ego-centric society, and yet our walk of faith is not merely to be about our personal growth and development, but about how we can invest into the lives of others to enrich and encourage them in their walk of faith. God has uniquely gifted you to serve Him and supply something to the upbuilding of His body to see His purposes accomplished in the earth. I appreciate the individual believer, but his or her potential can never be fully realized outside the context of their part of the greater body of Christ. If you are looking for a place to fellowship, you would certainly be welcome at WKCC. Bring your baggage with you. It wont shock anyone that youre not perfect. We arent either, but together we can increase in the knowledge of Christ and accomplish great things for His glory! Have a great Thanksgiving, and join us for worship, Sunday at 10 am and Wednesday at 7 pm. God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy. Psalms 68:6
