Hebrews 10:36 You need to persevere so that when you have done - TopicsExpress

Hebrews 10:36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. Matthew 7:21 Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. THE WILL OF GOD! So what is that exactly? Well we get a general idea from these next couple scriptures... Luke 6:46 Why do you call me, Lord, Lord, and do not do what I say? Romans 2:13 For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in Gods sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. Doing what God says to do which points us to RIGHTEOUSNESS which points us to OBEYING THE LAW. But WAIT! You may be thinking doesnt the word of God tell us that all of our righteousness is a filthy rags, doesnt it tell us that we cannot keep the law, doesnt it tell us that our salvation is by faith alone in Jesus? YES IT DOES!!!! :D Well then why am I talking about doing the will of God and righteousness being tied into obeying the law? We simply profess our belief in Jesus and we are good right? WRONG! This is where the scriptures have been twisted and many of then completely overlooked, set to he side and/or completely ignored. The scriptures are meant to be taken as a whole, if we want understanding then we must seek to FULLY understand. Salvation is what needs to be understood here. What exactly is it? What am I being saved from? Hell right? Well yes and no. Yes, hell but that is not the proper understanding of salvation. SIN has wages and hell is the big payday! It gives us a foretaste of what is to come on a day to day basis with its little disbursements here and there. Christ died and rose again to redeem us that we would not longer be slaves to SIN, that we would not longer be INDEBTED and under the control of SIN! Christ came to set us free. He was born of man and God. Having fully kept the law and then willingly laying down His life for us He broke the CURSE that we were under where sin and death ruled and reigned over mankind. And so the gift of eternal life was offered to ALL who TRULY seek to be set free from the clutches of SIN and DEATH. And when we SINCERELY accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior He breaks that death-grip that SIN has on us and begins leading us in the way of RIGHTEOUSNESS! Just as SIN reigned over us before so now RIGHTEOUSNESS is to reign over us NOW that we are FREE to DO RIGHTEOUSLY!!!! Now to address the question of simply professing Christ and we are good when it comes to salvation. Well, once again yes and no. This has been and continues to be distorted by many. The ONLY WAY to begin salvation is by believing in Jesus Christ and the only way to continue therein is to continue believing in Jesus Christ. So to put it simply YES, just BELIEVE! Yet, so many fail to understand that belief gives birth to action, that faith is lifeless, void of any validity if it has not works! This is where we lose people so pay careful attention. Christ came to set us free from SIN so that we could serve the LIVING GOD! So that we could live APART FROM SIN and its wages so that sin would not longer rule and reign in our lives. IF SIN IS STILL RULING AND REIGNING IN YOUR LIFE THEN YOU ARE NOT LIVING BY FAITH!!!! Now let us look at this NOT being able to keep the law and having to believe in Jesus for salvation. Before Christ and even after we accept Christ we APART FROM HIM (apart from our faith in Him) CAN DO NOTHING!!! What is being addressed when we are told that we cannot keep the law is two things. One is the fallen state of mankind as a whole and the fact that we are trapped, enslaved, condemned, and doomed. Unable to save ourselves. The second is that we MUST be united to Him in order to be able to actually OVERCOME this failure to obey! He empowers us to WALK RIGHTEOUSLY!!! Thus STILL our righteousness is NOT OUR OWN but IS A GIFT FROM GOD!!!! It does not mean that we accept some form of forgiveness and then continue trapped in our miserable sinful state until we die! GOD FORBID! So then THIS is how it ALL ties together! John 6:28 Then they asked him, What must we do to do the works God requires? 29 Jesus answered, The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent. Ezekiel 36:26Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances. Those who truly believe and honestly profess Christ WILL be fruitful, will live righteously. All other profession, all other believe is nothing but wishful thinking, smoke and mirrors, it is a lie.
