Hebrews 13:5-6 Warning against covetousness, prevous verse warns against. 1. The lust of the flesh (immorality) 2. The lust of the eyes (materialism) Covetousness is a strong desire for material things. This is strongly condemn in the Bible Mk 7:21-23 Lk 12:15; it will keep one out of the Kingdom of God 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 like fornication it should not be named among us. Eph 5:3 The antidote for covetousness is contentment. If we are content, then we wont be covetous. Contentment is therefore an important virture for christians to develop. 1. What is contentment? 2. What is the key to being content? Defination: The English word content means Desiring no more than what one has. The greek word is (Arkeo) which means to be satisfied. when one is content, they are satisfied with what they have; with no desire for more, covetousness no longer becomes a problem! TBC
