Hebrews 3:16-19 Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they - TopicsExpress

Hebrews 3:16-19 Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies perished in the wilderness? And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed? So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief. Lord God, help our unbelief! In Mark 9, there is a story of a boy who is possessed by a mute spirit. Jesus returns to find that His disciples were unable to cast the spirit out of the boy. Through a discussion with the boy’s father, Jesus tells him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” At this, the boy’s father falls to tears and says, “Lord, I do believe; help my unbelief!” That is my prayer today, as we see that the issue for the generation that was delivered from Egypt was unbelief. As Israel begins their journey, there was groaning and complaining, and mention that they would have been better off in captivity in Egypt. Their hope in the Lord was sabotaged. Hold fast to the truth, and do not waver as you live out your faith daily. Lord God, help our unbelief!
