Important- Do not prime or paint over the tar and nicotine before treating with Vamoose. When this happens, it only seals the odor in for a short time and eventually, the paint and primer will become porous allowing oxygen to reach the contaminated areas. At this point, the tar and nicotine begin to decay allowing the gases (third-hand smoke) to leach through into the environment. The best solution is to treat these areas first with Vamoose, which dissolves the tar and nicotine on contact thus eliminating the source before the walls and ceilings are primed and painted. This also applies to cabinets that are being restored.
