Hector Lombard Cutting To Welterweight Hector Lombard gave the middleweight division a run, but is officially moving down to welterweight after speaking with the bosses of the UFC. The former Bellator middleweight champion joined the UFC following several years competing around the globe. He eventually settled in with Bellator when they debuted in 2009. He was their first middleweight champion and relinquished it when he signed a UFC contract. Lombard joined the UFC with over 20 consecutive wins, though is 1-2 inside the Octagon. He suffered split-decision losses to Tim Boetsch and Yushin Okami with a stoppage win to Rousimar Palhares. To help make the drop, Lombard is moving at least 12 miles per day and is on a diet. He currently walks around at 192 pounds. When Lombard makes his welterweight debut, he wants to take on former Strikeforce champion Nate Marquardt.
