Heidi Jo Helmick Jamie Martin 10 hrs · Broken Mini Update Update about my now confirmed broken leg. Its broken above my knee, my femur is broken. Im not completely sure, and Ill get it confirmed with my surgeon tomorrow sometime, but I think the word the knee doc used was, I have osteoarthritis, that makes my bones fragile and easy to break. So, my falling could easily have caused this. Ive been admitted to the hospital. Tomorrow sometime Ill be transported to the same city where I got my total hip replacement and have my broken leg fixed on Wednesday sometime by the surgeon that did my hip replacement surgery. Speaking of replacement, my replacement parts are loose and thatll hopefully be fixed during the surgery as well. This surgery will be major, and words like screws, plates, bone graph, were thrown around by the knee specialist (the one that suggested I do PT and use an anti-inflammatory med for knee pain) who spoke with my surgeon about my x-rays and my falling etc, but Ill see the surgeon tomorrow sometime and hell give me a better idea of what will be done with my major surgery on Wednesday sometime. Personally, Im hoping everything can be done in one setting, and then on to recovery and PT. Im not sure what to expect come tomorrow or Wednesday or the next few days and weeks, but Im trying desperately to remain positive and strong etc ythat things will go well and hopefully I wont have any more problems with my left leg afterwards. Theyve got me on morphine and percocet right now. They want to get my pain under control and make sure Ill not moving around. No cather has been inserted yet but Im sure Ill have one after surgery Wednesday, and was told no more using my walker to go potty, so Ill have to use the bed pan from now on, sooooo not looking forward to that as I know itll hurt like hell, even with the pain meds. So, I get my surgery, soon in fact, Ill be in pain, but hopefully after this be on the road to recovery-ville and do everything I have to to make my legs strong as best I can. Small steps deep breaths. Take it one day at a time. Trying to remain positive and strong that my surgery will go fine, that there wont be any complications, or if there is, it will be taken care of asap. Like · 8 people like this. We have 3 of our 4 orange boys still there. Crush, Sunkist and Fanta. All very sweet! Crush is almost a flame point! Sweet Cadbury/Jace gets lots of looks, but no one gives him a chance! We have some of the sweetest cats you have ever seen! Sweet Boots just wants to love! And our poor senior boy is already neutered and declawed. If anyone can help, please message me.
