Height of cost cutting! Was surprised to note how some automotive companies have resorted to an absolutely absurd and poor design & engineering practice of offering a spare wheel of 1 lower rim size as a spare wheel. Discovered that a Vento Volkswagen https://facebook/volkswagen owned by us had a 14 spare wheel while the other four tyres are 15 rim size. All arguments bandied about same OD of the tyre make no sense as the vector analysis of forces acting on the rim on impact with road will certainly vary! Couple that with the terrible road conditions in India. Can it be a fit case for Competitive Commission or Consumer Redressel Forum for wilfully causing a risk/extra discomfort to the passenger? Tire companies are getting shortcharged by having to offer a smaller tyre as OE for which they get paid less! Let the Auto/Tyre gurus respond!
