Helens top tip for beginning flying changes: First, just go on the diagonal and try it. You dont know how the horse will react until you try, so just go for it. If the horse reacts well, continue on the line. At first I dont care if its late behind or in front - I want the horse to just recognise the aid, then we can work on the rest. Its also important to change the lines to stop the horse anticipating - search new lines and new points to ask, where theyre least expecting you to ask #BDNationalConvention
