To all of my former students and friends of music especially the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Please read. Thank you Carl. As I’m certain all of you have heard by now, the Atlanta Symphony has locked out its musicians, our colleagues, for the second time in two years. Briefly, management is looking for virtually total control of orchestra complement and insurance coverage. As in 2012, management has said that they will cut off benefits as of the end of September (I’m certain they are waiting that long only because the premium has been paid for the month.) This will be an extremely challenging period for the musicians. Please offer to help them in any way you can. I will try to keep you updated on major developments. Our goal here is to protect the ASOs future by growing more support through finding and networking friends.
