Hello All, Im pleased to announce that this year there will be a beach ultimate tournament hosted at the BUCS Surf Championship. The championship takes place on October 17th-19th at Fistral beach (near Newquay). Full details of the tournament (number of pitches, number of teams etc) are yet to be finalised but the actual competition will be held on the Saturday and Sunday (18th/19th) and the tournament team fee will not be more than £100. On the Friday well run some light training/taster type sessions, play some pickup and have some beers. There should be a great atmosphere on the beach with plenty going on. No accommodation is provided but there will be an accommodation and entertainment package available for competitors and spectators (details tbc)– last year it cost £45p.p.p. for 3 nights accommodation (static caravans), transport to and from the beach, town and campsite in buses throughout the day and evening, and also entrance into the official club nights with a recognised DJ (last year Danny Howard). Were hoping that this will become a fixture on the university ultimate calendar as a really good party event to help with team bonding early on in the year and an opportunity to enter a tournament a little different to any other uni event. Well be prioritising entry from university teams but welcome entries from non-uni teams too.
