Hello All! We have been engaged in many activities over these several days in Abu Dhabi. The last day of competition started with the Pressure Challenge of creating a helmet fit to a Lotus drivers head. We had to build a display case in Autodesk, incorporate our branding as well as new sponsors, and create a presentation explaining our product in two hours! We took a small five minute penalty for turning it in one minute late, but we reasoned this was better than being on time and missing critical information. After depressurizing, we engaged in a couple of marketing activities for F1 in Schools. Then it was time for the Knockout competition! We made it to the Quarter Finals with our SR-16M and Domenics speedy reaction times! The Greek car that knocked out ours ended up winning the entire Knockout competition, which made it a bit easier to swallow. The next day, Slipstream toured opulent Dubai. The highlights were the Burj al Arab, Gold Souk, Burj Khalifa, and Dubai Mall. What a stunning city of elegance and luxury! Our mouths were gaping and our eyes were popping the entire trip. Later that night was the Awards Ceremony. We sat with representatives from TATA Communications while enjoying the show. Our team won the Best Marketing and Sponsorship Awards (thanks to you!), and 4th Place overall. Despite not standing on the podium, we feel that the skills weve gained and connections weve strengthened throughout this journey are invaluable. Plus, they simply cannot be characterized by a trophy! We are incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to represent our country with such amazing supporters. Also, we have learned so much along the way, that spending 298 days of the past year (yes, we calculated!) has been well worth it. Wed like to say thank you, but feel that is not sufficient. Instead, we will do our best to utilize these new skills and resources to create a better world fueled by your generosity. Each and every supporter is critical to our success, and we appreciate all of the help weve received over the past ten months. YOU ARE INCREDIBLE!! Best Regards, Madelyn Kuma
