Hello Brothers & sisters and fellow appreciators of Classic CCM! On Thursday I put out a post asking How many were a part of our discussion group. Meant to follow up prior to today, but was out of town and busy with my wife until last last evening. I have a lot of thoughts rolling around in my head and much I would like to share with you. Have come to the conclusion that it is all to much and overwhelming for me to do this in one sitting, so I will approach this in bite size offerings. I have been a concert promoter, agent/manager since I came over on The Mayflower! I am prayerfully considering putting aside my production company and starting a non-profit similar in nature to The FCCM of days gone by. This organization would be comprised of people just like yourself who are followers of Jesus Christ and have a great appreciation of all the wonderful artist from the period between 1969 and 1989. This organization would have regular news updates sent out by Face Book and email, special savings on artist merchandise representing this period in CCM, contest, insider information about some of your favorite artist and THE BIG ONE!! Our very own National Convention to be held once a year in some amazing city! Yes, a 2-3 day Conference/Festival of our very own! A conference where you & I can finally get to meet each other, shake hands, give out hugs and hang out together.. How cool would that be! Can you imagine coming together 500, 5000 or more strong! The conference will feature Q&A sessions with your favorite artist, workshops, discussion groups, you can hang and dine with artist that you have been enjoying all of these years and so much more. At this conference/Festival we want to host a Legends Of CCM Concert featuring a whos who roster of artist such as PHIL KEAGGY, DARRELL MANSFIELD, RANDY STONEHILL, RANDY MATTHEWS, KENNY MARKS, CHUCK GIRARD & LOVE SONG, THE SWEET COMFORT BAND ( Featuring BRYAN DUNCAN), ANDRAE CROUCH, GREG X. VOLZ (Maybe CLASSIC PETRA), and others! You as a member can have input here.. I am going to Stop here as there are going to be be many questions on your mind I am sure. As I said early on, I am presently praying about this and am fully aware that this is a lot of work especially putting together the Conference/Festival. If enough of you voice a desire for this to become a reality than we will prayerfully move ahead. If there is little interest from such a group as this, than it would be very hard to find others to get excited and quite frankly not worth the effort. Is simply believe it would be awesome for as many of us as possible to collectively Come Together under one roof for an amazing weekend of fellowship and music.. Oh by the way, there will be a ocean and beach nearby for Down Time! Ok comrades, let me know what you think, well go from there.. Thanks, Gary
